WESTERVILLE, OHIO -- Cheryl’s, producers of cookies, brownies and cakes, held a grand opening Aug. 8 at its new retail store located at the company’s headquarters and production facility in Westerville.  The grand opening began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Westerville Mayor Diane Fosselman and members of the local Chamber of Commerce.

The grand opening included free samples of Cheryl’s baked goods, sneak peaks of the company’s newest products, prizes, cookie frosting demonstrations and a free gift for the first 100 people at the store.

The new flagship retail store is the final phase of an extensive expansion project at the company’s facilities. The expansion began in February 2014 with groundbreaking for a larger production plant.

Bob Happel, Cheryl’s general manager.

“Our expansion will add approximately 100 jobs over the next three years,” said Bob Happel, Cheryl’s general manager. “And as we add equipment it will allow us to double our food production capacity over the next five years.”

The store occupies approximately 3,000 square feet and enhances the customer shopping experience, including the ability to display a broader selection of Cheryl’s products for customers to choose from. Additionally, the store’s party room provides a venue for an array of events and gatherings, including birthday parties, educational classes and holiday celebrations.

“Cheryl’s is proud to call the community of Westerville our home,” said Mr. Happel. “The grand opening of our new flagship retail location represents the culmination of very hard work by our highly talented and dedicated team of associates, many of whom live right here in Westerville. We urge the entire community to join us on Aug. 8 and share in the exciting grand opening of our beautiful new store.”
