MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — Harvest Time Bread Co. has ceased operations, closing its manufacturing plant in Mount Airy. The company, which sold bread, rolls and sandwich buns to retail grocery bakeries, food service suppliers and restaurants, had previously closed a facility in Woodbridge, N.J., in the fall of 2010.
Harvest Time said cited declining sales for the decision to close the Mount Airy facility, which employed 57.
The Mount Airy facility was purchased in March 2010, and in January 2011 Harvest Time said it would expand production at the facility.
