TEESSIDE, ENGLAND — KP Snacks has opened a production site for its Pom-Bear and Hula Hoops Puft brands.

The company invested $7.5 million into a new 25,000-square-foot space that resides in its Teesside, England, complex, which also houses other snack factories and employs 750 workers.

To help support demand for Pom-Bear and Hula Hoops Puft products, the facility will run two new lines dedicated to the pellet snacks and employ 25 people.

Owned by The Intersnacks Group, KP Snacks’ portfolio includes 17 brands that offer sweet and savory snacks.

The expansion comes as the company celebrates the 50th anniversary of its largest operation.

“The opening of our new facility comes at a great time as Teesside is celebrating 50 years of production in 2019,” said Lee Appleby, factory general manager, KP Snacks. “We are passionate about employing local people, and we have generations of families here at the site. I’m proud to be leading KP Teesside during this exciting time of investment and growth.
