CHESTERFIELD, MO. — Rising costs have led AB Mauri to implement price increases on its mold inhibition products sold in the United States and Canada, effective Jan. 1, 2013, or as contracts expire.

“Factors impacting pricing include increases in propionic acid, transportation and other key raw materials,” said AB Mauri.

Calcium propionate will increase 5c per lb, and other select mold inhibition increases will vary based on their different input costs, the company said.

AB Mauri North America sells yeast under the Fleischmann’s Yeast brand name. The line of bakery ingredients, including dough improvers, leaveners, tablets, mold inhibitors, enzyme blends, vinegars and acidulants, syrups and malts and specialty products, are marketed under the AB Mauri Bakery Ingredients brand name.
