WASHINGTON — November production of edible nonfat dry milk was 115,709,000 lbs, up 22% from October but down 4% from November 2011, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Dairy Products report.
Manufacturers’ stocks of edible nonfat dry milk were 126,726,000 lbs, up 21% from October but down 13% from November 2011. November nonfat dry milk shipments were 89,740,000 lbs, down 7% from October and down 21% from November 2011.
Output of skim milk powders was 44,723,000 lbs, down 2% from October but up 13% from November 2011.
Total dry whey production was 71,525,000 lbs, down 6% from October and down 8% from November 2011.
Production of lactose was 80,479,000 lbs, down 3% from October and down 2% from November 2011. Whey protein concentrate production was 36,539,000 lbs, down 1% from October and down 1% from November 2011.
Dry buttermilk outturn was 8,691,000 lbs, up 1% from October and up 1% from November 2011.
Total manufacturers’ stocks of dry whey on Nov. 30 were 38,994,000 lbs, down 2% from October and down 6% from November 2011. Total lactose stocks were 87,419,000 lbs, down 2% from October but up 33% from November 2011. Whey protein concentrate stocks totaled 52,597,000 lbs, down 8% from October but up 29% from November 2011. Dry buttermilk stocks totaled 13,105,000 lbs, up 32% from October and up 11% from November 2011.
Butter production in November 2012 was 143,676,000 lbs, down 1% from October and down 6% from November 2011.
Total cheese production was 911,571,000 lbs, down 2% from October but up 2% from November 2011.
Production of regular hard ice cream in November totaled 54,047,000 gallons, down 15% from October but up 2% from November 2011. Low-fat ice cream production was 24,999,000 gallons, down 22% from October and down 11% from November 2011.
