DENVER — Love Grown Foods, L.L.C. has introduced Power O’s, a new cereal made from navy beans, lentils, garbanzo beans and brown rice. Power O’s are available in four varieties: original, honey, strawberry and chocolate.
The new cereal contains 4 to 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving. In addition, it’s considered low in sodium with 100 mg or less per serving, and it is non-bioengineered.
“Paying close attention to emerging trends in the natural products space, we realized the lack of bean and lentil-based products in the breakfast category and decided to capitalize on just that,” said Alex Hasulak, founder and chief executive officer of Love Grown Foods. “Our Power O’s are unlike anything on the shelves today and each of the four varieties are receiving phenomenal response from buyers and consumers alike.”
Founded in 2008, Love Grown Foods first introduced Oat Clusters toasted granola in 2009. The company has since expanded into more than 7,500 retailers in the United States and Canada and has added Hot Oats instant oatmeal cups and Super Oats hot cereal blends.
