General Mills said it will introduce a limited-edition pumpkin spice variety this fall.

General Mills, Inc. last week said it will continue to innovate within its Cheerios ready-to-eat cereal brand with the introduction of a limited-edition pumpkin spice variety this fall. The announcement comes on the heels of the company’s launch earlier this spring of a limited-edition strawberry Cheerios variety. While General Mills has extended the Cheerios line over the years — including the launch of gluten-free Cheerios and Protein Cheerios the past two years — the company traditionally has not used limited-edition varieties as a go-to-market strategy.
